Beautiful Rolled Paper Tea Caddy
Description:
Beautiful and rare rolled paper filigree tea caddy with a octagonal shape. The tea caddy features paintings on both the front and the back of the box. Filigree work was seen as a particular accomplishment for young ladies of the early 19th century and was was also taught at art school classes. Trade cards of the period mention the supply of cases for filigree work to boarding schools.
