Grand Walnut Queen Anne Mirror
Description:
An impressive looking glass with scrolled outlines and an intricately carved plume cresting at the center of the top. It has a gold gilt lining with a two-piece beveled mirror. Gold gilted swags border each of the sides. This is an excellent example of the late Queen Anne period.
Materials and Techniques:
Walnut with gold gilting. The backboards are white cedar and do not appear to be original.
Condition:
Replaced glass and backboards. There are minor breaks along the upper scrolling.
