Grace Gemberling Keast was particuarly known for her modernist composition rich with vibrant color and the retention of an eerie quality.  This painting illustrates this quality perfectly.  We entitled this Spectacle because of the engaging composition and it's pair of glasses in the foreground.  This interior to exterior expression was explored on occasion by Gemberling who enjoyed exploring perspective.  This painting in addition to a compilation of several works will be displayed in a retrospective of her work beginning March 3, 2012.
