Pine Paint Decorated Dower Chest
Description:
This blanket chest has a desirable blue paint applied on a dry and aged surface. A small escutcheon sits below a molded lid with iron strap hinges. There is a mid molding over a three drawer arrangement. Each drawer front has a lip molding, Sheraton brass and an appealing old red paint surface. The entire chest rests on black painted French feet.
Materials and Techniques:
Pine chest with poplar secondary woods.
Condition:
Excellent with aged and scrubbed surface.
Origin: Pennsylvania.
