Walnut Hepplewhite Slant Front Desk
Description:
An excellent example of the Hepplewhite period, this slant front desk illustrates many of the design elements popular during that time. The most striking is the interior. A flame grained prospect door with inlaid tulips immediately captures your attention. Flanked on either side are 4 pigeon holes over a two-over-one drawer arrangement. The case on this desk has an inlaid four drawer arrangement with flanking chamfered inlaid corners. The case rests over slightly tapered French bracket feet. The desk has four secret drawers hidden behind the prospect door.
